Dr. Wayne Jones

Based in Richardson, Texas, Dr. Wayne Jones is a veteran psychiatrist, researcher, and health consultant whose career in mental health spans more than 50 years. A pioneer in clinical psychopharmacology, he has focused on the medical management of complex psychiatric conditions while steadily broadening his work to include functional medicine, hormone optimization, and whole-person wellness.

Dr. Jones earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Branch and completed psychiatry training at Parkland Memorial and Presbyterian Hospitals in Dallas. He then served as a major in the United States Air Force, directing a 30-bed psychiatric unit at Sheppard Air Force Base and caring for active-duty personnel and returning Vietnam POWs. After military service, he entered private practice, ultimately serving as chairman of the department of psychiatry and chief of staff at Richardson Medical Center.

Throughout his career, Dr. Jones has conducted and co-led clinical research on anxiety, depression, and medication efficacy, publishing in leading journals and directing pivotal trials at the Phobia and Anxiety Center of the Southwest. He has also been active in professional education, community organizations, and national advocacy groups, including work with the OCD Foundation and the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill. Today, he continues to consult on difficult psychiatric cases and collaborate with patients seeking long-term mental health and wellness solutions.
